About Our Place

Shivamogga is a city which lies on the banks of river Tunga. Being the gateway for the hilly region of the western Ghats, the city is popularly nicknamed as ‘Gateway of Malnad’. The city is surrounded by lush green paddy fields, arecanut and coconut grooves. Shivappa nayaka Palace Museum and huge Sacred Heart Cathedral are must visit places inside the city. On the outskirts we have Lion Safari, Elephant camp and Gajanur Dam. World famous Jog falls, Mandagadde bird Sanctuary are at a close proximity from Shimoga.

About Club

Inner Wheel Club Of Shimoga East was formed in the year 2003-04 with Mrs Shobha Kadidal as Charter President and Mrs Namitha Suryanarayan as Charter Secretary. PDC Mrs Bharathi Chandrashekar , the then District ESO, played a key role in starting the new club. Charter was presented by PDC Mrs.Chandrika Raghu, who was the District Chairman then. Starting with just 19 members, it has now grown into a strong and active club of 41 members involved in various service projects. Late Mrs.Shobha Kadidal was the first one to enter the District as District ISO from our club in the year 2006-07. Then she served as District Treasurer during 2008-09 and District Vice Chairman in 2010-11.Next entry to the District from our club is her daughter Mrs. Shabari Kadidal who entered as District ISO in the year 2020-21 and presently serving as District Editor. Our club has the credit of hosting the District Assembly in the year 2007 and District Rally ‘Sambhrama’ in 2018 with highest attendance ever ,which was appreciated by all. We were one of the host clubs during the conferences held in Shimoga in the year 2016 and 2021.
