About Our Place

Mangalore officially known as Mangaluru is named after the Goddess of shakti Mangala Devi. The bustling port city has every aesthetic one could imagine, old world charm, modern facilities, beautiful landscapes, warm season stunning beaches, sea sports and diverse culture. City lies between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats spread out over the backwaters of the two rivers Netravati and Gurpura. Mangalore is renowned for its historical architecture this place is called Rome of the east. It is a multilingual city with several prominent regional languages such as Tulu, Konkani, Kannada, English Hindi and Berry being used here. The city serves variety of cuisines famous for its sea food, traditional south Indian food and so on. The Yakshagana and the tiger dance are the folk dance unique to this area. Dasara is considered the biggest festival in the city. It is a major gateway to the Indian state of Karnataka. The city is dominated by booming industrial and economic activities and see lot of immigrants every year,It is the only city of Karnataka having all four means of transport which has lead to its exponential growth in the recent years .

About Club

Way back on 6th February 1974, a small group of 18 young Anns from Rotary Club of Mangalore North joined together and inaugurated the first women’s service organization in our city – The Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North. It received the official charter on 27th August 1974 and from a small sapling it has now blossomed into a full grown tree spreading the fragrance of Friendship and Service and beyond. We are proud to have 1 Past association Secretary Mrs. Mitra Prabhu, 3 Honoured Active members late Mrs.Saroja Lalithaya, Mrs Usha Raviraj, Dr. Malini Hebbar
