About Our Place

Sagar is situated in Syhadri mountain range, on the bank of Varada river. It’s surrounded by many places of historically importance and natural beauty. Varadmula is the birthplace of river Varada.
Nayakas of Keladi were an Indian dynasty based in Keladi, Sagar Taluk. They were an important ruling dynasty in post-medieval Karnataka. Keladi Chennamma was the 11th queen of Keladi, she ruled for 25 years from 1667. Ikkeri was the capital of Keladi kingdom. They built many beautiful temple and ponds. Temples like Ikkeri, Keladi, Nadakalasi and Marikamba temple at Sagar are important among them. Sagar Ganapathi kere was also built in their duration. Even now Marikamba fair is celebrated once in every 3 years. 
Jog falls is created by the Sharavati dropping which is very near to Sagar. It is the second highest waterfall in India which attracts worldwide tourists.
Talaguppa toy train was started in 1/12/1899, which is one of oldest railway connection.
Varadahalli is one of the spiritual places where Shreedara swamy made meditation.
Sigandooru is one of the sacred places, where we go by ferry to the Chowdeswari temple

About Club

Our club was started in the year 2015 by Smt.Anasuya Sridhara who was the first president. During her period 410 uniforms were donated to higher primary school students of Sagar Taluk. 
In 2017, during Smt.Concepta D' costa’s presidential term Physiotherapy equipment’s were given to physically challenged students at Mungaravalli. 
In 2018, Smt.Shashikala Ashwathnarayan’s tenure components like sports equipment’s, water drum, uniform and story books were given to Gadikkatte government school.
In 2019, Smt.Shivaleela Y M’s presidential term water purifier installation was done in two places one at government bus stand and the other at Sree Gandada Sankeerna government school. Donated Rs.10,000 to orphans at Vanashri school for their wellbeing.
In 2020, Smt.Susheela Hegde’s tenure 20 beds, steel plate rack, water pipe & table were given to Vanavaasi hostel. Donated flask & umbrella to the Asha Karya Kartha’s accompanied by rotary club. 
These are some of the accomplishments by IWC Sagar in 5 years.
