Mysuru is one of the beautiful cities of Karnataka and famous for it's heritage value from many centuries.This cultural city has many contributions by royal family that ruled Mysuru. Mysuru Amba Vilas Palace is very famous anywhere in the world being one of the most prominent places for tourists also blessed with goddess chamundeshwari situated atop Chamundi hill.World famous Mysuru Dasara Navaratri Utsava every year begins with royal families and offers pooja for goddess chamundeshwari from day one to vijayadashmi which ends with beautiful procession. Mysuru has a rich, historical, social, literary, cultural and political heritage. Mysuru is a homeland for art,literature and also education.There are n number of places in mysuru which attracts tourists from globe wide. Mysore is also known for its special variety of jasmine flower fondly referred as "Mysore Mallige" and betel leaves. Tourism is the major industry alongside the traditional industries. Mysore's inter-city public transportation includes rail, bus and flights.

About Club

The inner wheel club of Mysore west was inaugurated on 23-10-1973 by the renowned industrialist PDG. Rtn, F.K. Irani, who installed late Mrs. Kamalini V. Murthy as the charter president and Dr. Mrs. Padmaja Nair as the Charter secretary of the club along with 13 members. The registration date of our club is 19-11-1973. The charter was presented by the then District chairman Mrs. Lalitha Sitaram on 25-08-1974. There were 20 charter members and it is the second oldest I.W. Club in Mysore. Initially the club concentrated more on personal service like reading text books to the blind students in the SSLC class, Film shows and lectures for rural women on family planning, health and education, serving lunch and protein enriched milk to the students of Paduvarahalli school and supplying 20 eggs daily to an orphanage which continued for another 25 Years. The club in its maiden year won the “Mrs. Malathi Ramakrishna Rao” award as the Best Personal Service club in the district. The club hosted the District Assembly before bifurcation of the district the same year.
Now we are serving the community in several fields like education, medical care, old age homes and orphanages and building toilets in adopted schools. In 1992 we formed “Grameena Kanya Vikas Trust” to educate rural girls.

We Assist and support many humanitarian projects of Rotary Club of Mysore west and have
joint projects as well.
The Club has the distinction of having 8 Paul Harris fellows.
The club has hosted many District events. It has won many awards including Best Club award several times for exemplary service to the community.
The silver jubilee in 1998-1999 was celebrated in a befitting manner.Mysore now Mysuru… The very name brings pleasant memories of a rich tradition. The temple of goddess Chamundeshwari, Royal Palaces, Dasara, Beautiful gardens, Mysore Silk, Masala Dose, Coffee, fragrance in the form of Sandalwood, Jasmines and Agarbathies.
Mysuru, situated in the Deccan plateau with its over a million population is well connected by air, rail and road. Often reckoned as the Yoga Centre of the world and one of our country's cleanest cities ; it beckons the visitors to sample its rich variety and culture thereby creating in them an everlasting sense of wonder and enchantment.
