Doctors Day
On account of Doctor's day celebration from IWC, Mysuru West, Honored Dr. Roopashree, Associate Professor of Physiology at Eastpoint College of Medical Sciences, Bengaluru. She has published many research articles in medical journals and presented research papers in various national and international conferences.
Honored Dr.Sonia Mandappa, Consultant Obstetrician, Mysuru. Teaching faculty at Nursing Institutions, Mysuru. Asia Pacific Institute of Embryology, Mysuru. She has published Journal of Reproductive Biology on PCOS and guide for the projects in association with the department of genetics and genomics, University of Mysuru. She was Secretary of Mysuru OBG Society (2004-05), Executive Committee Member, IMA, Mysuru (2006-07), Life Member for IMA. Chairperson of SAFEMOTHERHOOD committee KSOGA (2021-22), Executive Member of Mysore OBG Society (2022-23).

Azadika Amruth Mahotsav - 75th Independence day was celebrated by Rotary West School, Saraswathipuram, Kanakadasa Nagar as well as as Rotary West and Parents Association of Deaf Children, Mysuru on 15th August 2022.
PDG Mr.Shivanna H S hoisted the flag, Rotary Association President and Past Asst.Governor of Rotary Organisation Dist. 3181 Mr.Ravishankar, Association Treasurer Mr.Gangadhar Gowda, PP of RW Mr.Chandra, IWCMW President Mrs. Rushmi Gowda, School Principal Mr.Manjunath, Principal Mrs. Poonima, School staff and children participated in the patriotic event.

Ooty Dist 320
Eight clubs of Mysuru jointly hosted the IWC President, PDCs and members of the Ketty Valley, Ooty, Dist 320 and have exchanged the flag with ISO. Gifted goodibags with all the specials symbolysing the heritage city of Mysuru at Rotary Jawa School.
Program was attended by all the Presidents, Secretaries, PDCs, PPs and members of all 8 IW Clubs of Mysuru.
Delicious lunch was arranged which included Mysuru specials like MysuruPak, Mysuru badanekayid ennegayi etc.,

Friendship day 2022
IWCMW friends celebrated friendship day on 16th August 2022 at our newly inducted member Mrs. Sailatha's lovely home. She graciously hosted the meet by arranging several games, tying friendship bands enthusiastically. Potluck lunch was organised very meticulously. Mrs. Mahalakshmi, newly inducted member supported all the arrangement.

Teachers' day 2022
Teachers' day 2022 was celebrated on 6th September 2022 jointly with Rotary West Association. Teachers of RWS, Saraswathipuram and Kanakadasa Nagar were honored on this day. Teachers of Paul Harris Training Centre were also honored on this occasion.

Adarsha Dampathigalu
In association with Rotary Club of Mysore West a wonderful evening was spent in an event "ADARSHA DAMPATHIGALU" beatifully conducted by Mrs.Samana Srinath, Vice President of IWCMW and Mr Srinath, Hon.Secretary of RCMW. Fun games was conducted for the participated Dampathigalu.

Kannada Rajyotsava
On 1st November 2022, IWCMW members celebrated KANNADA RAJYOTSAVA in association with Rotary Club of Mysore West. PDG Mr.G K Balakrishnan spoke about UDAYAVAYITHU KANNADA NADU', Karnataka, Kannada and Gnanapeeta Prashasti vijetharu. A quick quiz was conducted by him and kannada books were given as gift for the right answers.
Mrs. Mahalakshmi Bharadwaj, Professional Singer sang Bhavageethe.
Our Vice President Mrs. Samana Srinath and Hon.Secretary of Rotary Club of Mysore West Mr. Srinath conducted several activities related to the special day of Kannada. In rememberence of the rulers of Kannada Nadu, teams were formed and named after them - CHALUKYA, KADAMBA, RASHTRAKUTA, WODEYAR, HOYSALA. Prizes was given to all the teams.
Members and their family of Rotary Club of Heritage took part in the event.

Charter's Day
Charter's Day was celebrated at Hotel Le Ruchi The Prince, Mysuru on 30th November 2022, PDC Mrs.Shailaja Shivanna, Mrs.Bibi Chandy were honored on the day. Mrs.Shailaja Shivanna spoke about the old and golden days, shared her experience, which was very encouraging, inspiring and motivating. She thanked all the friends for celebrating the Charter day with so much of enthusiasm, and making them feel so important and loved. We had fun games to entertain, PP Mrs.Samana Srinath and PP Mrs. Brinda Avaneesh sponsored useful prizes. Had delicious and awesome lunch.

International Inner Wheel Day
10th Jan - 99th International Inner Wheel Day, this was celebrated from our club on 31st Jan 2023 at Hotel LE RUCHI The Prince. The day was celebrated by cutting the cake, specially made in the name of Inner Wheel and its logo, by the President and team. The event was well attended by the PDCs, PPs and the club members. President gifted fridge magnets specially made with the logo of WORK WONDERS.
Members participated, played and enjoyed the fun games and won prizes. Delicious lunch was followed.

District Chairman's Official Visit - 2022-23
On 17th January 2023, District Chairman Mrs.Kavitha Niyath made official visit to our prestigious club. The great day began receiving DC from her residence in the morning by our President, Secretary, PDCs, PPs and Members.
Live Projects on the day
1. Visited the inmates of Mother Theresa Missionaries of charity, sponsored Groceries to them and distributed fruits and spent some time with them.
2. Visited Paul Harris Vocational Training Centre. The Trainers and the Trainees were met and they shared their experiences with DC and the club members.
ASSEMBLY OF THE CLUB
Main part of the Official visit of DC - Club assembly was organised at our Past President Dr.Vijaya Muralidhar's residence. She welcomed DC and club members with welcome drink, the hall was very well organised for club assembly. Assembly procedures were smoothly conducted. President Mrs.Rushmi Gowda's filing system was well appreciated. Secretary Mrs.Ashika Kushalappa gave the report of the club. Treasurer Dr.Bharathi Urs reported the accounts, which was bench-marked by the DC, ISO Mrs.Sudha Nagarjun reported the details of the flag exchange, Editor Mrs.Shashikala Suresh reported updates made every week to the Editors group and the updates done on Website. A detailed report of the events and projects done was reported to DC.

OFFICIAL FUNCTION
Official function was arranged in the evening at Rotary West Auditorium, Saraswathipuram. We welcomed District Chairman Mrs.Kavitha Niyath in the theme of Sankranthi. DC Mrs.Kavitha Niyath, PDC and Dist ESO Mrs. Suma Krishna, Dist ISO Mrs.Uma Mahesh graced the occasion with President Mrs.Rushmi Gowda and Secretary Mrs.Ashika Kushalappa. The event was attended by PDCs of our club Mrs.Shailaja Shivanna, Mrs.Jayashree M Urs and the PDCs of other Inner Wheel clubs Mrs.Chandrika Raghu, Mrs.Jahnavi Murthy, Mrs.Swarna Chittaranjan. Our club members participated with full exitement. Rotary West President Mr.Ullas Pandit and Hon.Secretary Mr.Srinath and rotarians participated in the occasion. President and Secretaries of other IWCs of Mysuru graced the occasion and wished.
President Mrs.Rushmi Gowda welcomed and addressed DC and the gathering. Invocation by Ms.Rakshitha, student of Mahajana Law College, Secretary Mrs.Ashika Kushalappa reported the messages and wishes. Inner Wheel prayer from ISO Mrs.Sudha Nagarjun. IPP Mrs.BHavani Chandra introduced DC, Club Roster was sponsored and released by Rotary West Association Treasurer Rtn. Mr. Gangadhar Gowda. Special Bulletin BRINDAVAN was released by Rotary West President Rtn.Mr.Ullas Pandit and IWC MW Editor Mrs.Shashikala Suresh joined.

Women & Adolescent girl welfare - 2022
Violence at different places like, partner abuse, sexual violence, harassment, human trafficking, female genital mutilation, child marriage etc., with several live examples was discussed.
She also high-lighted that Violence against women continues to be an obstacle to achieving equality, development, peace as well as to the fulfillment of women and girls’ human rights.

The woman performs the role of wife, partner, organiser, administrator, director, recreator, economist, mother, teacher, health officer, artist and queen in the family at the same time. Apart from it, woman plays a key role in the socio-economic development of the society.
Mrs. Shilpa (lost her husband a year back) working as a cook and warden at Louie Braille Charitable Trust was helped by sponsoring Rs.5,000/- to support education of her children.

He explained and gave awareness on the harmful materials/substances in the environment. The difference between the pollution or distraction caused by a Volcano Ash (natural phenomena) and the trash or run off produced by factories etc.,- (human activities), was explained. The damage caused to quality of air, water and land, the amount noise pollution etc., was discussed.

Jagruth Tech Pvt Ltd., J P Nagar, Mysuru, collects low value plastics / single use plastics / non-recyclable plastic waste / multi layer plastic trimmed packaging waste / grocery bags / food packaging straws etc., in association with Namma Mysuru Foundation, Mysuru, which is normally dumped for land filling.
They convert this plastic waste to useful items like dustbins, pots, bench, table, shoe racks and the best of it is the interlock pavers. By manufacturing these Eco Interlock pavers from low value plastic waste and thereby diverting it from land fill, the atmosphere is prevented and protected by the chemical emissions. and thereby reducing the global warming. The vision of the organisation is to reduce 1 degree temperature in India, and the mission is to manufacture negative carbon foot print products thereby reducing Co2 emission to atmosphere.
Mr.Dinesh, Director of Jagruth Tech Pvt Ltd., explained the process to the students of Maharani's High School. The program was co-ordinated by Dr.Shwetha. President Mrs.Rushmi Gowda, Editor Mrs.Shashikala Suresh, Mrs. Rajamma Murthy and Rtn.Gangadhar Gowda attended the project.

Cancer - 2022
High school girl students of Rotary West, Saraswathipuram, Mysuru, teachers and Mothers attended and was benefitted by the talk. Doctor interacted with students and parents.

Mammogram is an X-ray picture of the breast, to examine the human breast for diagnosis and screening. The goal of mammography is the early detection of breast cancer. Mammography screening is recommended after the age of 40.
Mammography can detect cancer early when it’s most treatable and can be treated less invasively (thereby helping to preserve quality of life). Breast Cancer death rate has dropped by 30% compared to previous 50 years. A study published in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention shows mammography screening cuts the risk of dying from breast cancer nearly in half.
The checkup program was well supported by the Jail Superintendent Mrs.Divyashree and her team. Dr.Prathima and team from Purna Sudha Cancer Foundation. Dr.Sonia Mandappa co-ordinated the program. Anemia - 2022
Resource person Dr.Sonia Mandappa, Chairperson of Safe Motherhood Committee, KSOGA, gave talk with PPT presentation and had interaction session about ANEMIA.
Anemia screening to the girl students of Mahajana FGC was also done.
Iron and folic acid supplements to the HB deficiency students was sponsored by EMCURE Pharmaceuticals.

Our efforts to start a new IWC at Institution bore fruit.
On 29th May 2023, CHARTER PRESENTATION CEREMONY OF THE NEW CLUB - INNER WHEEL CLUB OF MAHAJANA POST GRADUATE CENTRE took place today, at MTA Auditorium, PBMMEC Campus, KRS Road, Metagalli, Mysuru.
50th club of District 318 - New Club was presented to the District Chairman by the Extension Service Officer with her remarks. Charter Presentation was made by District Chairman Mrs.Kavitha Niyath to Mrs.Dr..Bhavana V, President of the IWCMPGC (new Club) and Mrs Shobha D, Secretary, in the presence of PDC & Dist. ESO Mrs,Suma Krishna, Dist. ISO Mrs. Uma Mahesh, Hon.Secretary of Mahajana Education Society Mrs.Vijayalakshmi Muralidhar. The Presidential jewel - Collar, Pin etc., was given to the new President by the District Chairman. Mrs.Rushmi Gowda, President and Mrs.Ashika Kushalappa Secretary of IWC Mysore West represented from the parent club.
20 members were inducted to the new club. The new secretary announced upcoming projects.

Our club supported to procure Computer to Louie Braille Charitable Trust, where visually challenged girls from all the parts of Karnataka are trained and support to get these kind of job for them.

Both these projects are funded by Rotary Mysore West Charitable Trust. This trust has 80 G registration. Funds are collected by club members who donate on their birthdays, wedding anniversaries, in memory of their loved ones, or any other occasions. Many philanthropists also contribute.
SAVE-A-CHILD, is a project launched earlier, wherein children of economical weaker section with congenital diseases are treated with a very low cost (Almost free of cost). The total cost is borne in the following pattern. Kamakshi Hospital, whom we have an MOU, will give 20% reduction in the treatment charges. A very small portion is borne by the patient (as anything given totally free is of no value). Balance Rotary Club of Mysore West bears. Till date we have treated around more than 650 children.
Now in SAVE-A-LIFE is a project, which is launched in similar lines of SAVE-A-CHILD project. But here bread winner of the family or the mother, is treated. Here also Kamakshi Hospital reduces the treatment cost by 20% a very small portion is borne by the patient and balance is met by Rotary Club of Mysore West.

The camp started on 9th November 2022 was continued till 18th November 2022. Treating patients for obesity, blood pressure, diabetic, spondylitis, back pain, knee pain, joint pain, head ache & migraine, paralysis, indigestion, acidity programs, constipation etc., through Acupressure Yoga, Naturopathy theropy etc., which stimulates the body, improves blood circulation, relaxes the muscles, relieves stress and anxiety. Digestion, constipation issues, menstrual cramps were treated and guided. Patients were guided and trained to use the required equipment of magnet and vibration theropy etc., The camp was conducted by Dr. Sharma, Jogpur. Community Service Director Dr.Sonia co-ordinated throughout the camp.
More than 700 patients have made use of the camp and got the best benefit of it. Nearly 200 patients have procured different kinds of acupressure supportive equipments for their continuous use.

On this occasion IWCs of Mysuru jointly donated 5 yoga mats, 2 Jamkhanas, 4 vegetable puzzles, 4 fruit puzzles, 1 set of fruits and vegetables model, 1 set animals model, Flash cards of English, Kannada, Numbers, fruits, vegetables, birds, colour, shapes, etc., for children use.
We also donated few gardening items like pots, buckets and pans for the benefit of the school. Perk chocolates and Biscuit packets for 30 students was distributed.
