India has several social evils such as: inequality towards women, dowry system, child marriages, no adequate education for girls among many others. Today the new generation have adopted drinking, smoking and drugs to cope with the present stress and pressures of society.
The problem having spread through-out the country in a wide way, Inner Wheel Mysore found it appropriate to reach out to girls by spreading awareness about the same. During the event, Dr. Sriram form The Asha Kirana Aids Trust was invited by our club. He gave a detailed presentation and very inspirational talk on social evil, its management and eradication.
This project was done at the Girl Remand Home on Lalit Mahal Road in Mysore and a sound system was donated on the occasion.
