What is Inner Wheel

Inner Wheel is the world’s largest Women’s Voluntary Non-Governmental
Organization to help and serve the needy and underprivileged sections of the society. In
recognition of its social service, it has been inserted in the ECOSOC roster of United Nations.
It has its representation in specialized agencies like UNICEF and UNESCO.

The Inner Wheel motto is Friendship and Service.

Inner wheel is essentially a grass roots organization with most of its service efforts
being carried out at the club level. The District The Association and the International structure
are designed to support the clubs as administrative bodies and help them provide more service
in their communities and beyond that.

Clubs : A club of minimum 10 women related to Inner Wheel and Rotary or prominent
women from society invited to join Inner Wheel. Each club elects its own officers and enjoys
considerable autonomy within the framework of Inner Wheel Constitution and Bye-laws.
They are the ones who do service to the society.

Districts : Minimum 4 clubs together form a District .There are 27 Districts in Association of
Inner Wheel clubs in India, each led by District Chairman.

Association : There are in all 15 Associations in Inner Wheel which function at the national
level. In Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in India there are 27 Districts at present.
International InnerWheel (IIW) :IIWwith its headquarters in Manchester, U.K is the apex
administrative body for 99 countries in which Inner Wheel exists.

GOVERNING BODY IN INNER WHEEL

The heirarchy of Inner Wheel shows that at the apex is the International Inner Wheel under which is the Association consisting of varios Districts and at the end are the clubs with its members providing selfless service. Every level of Inner Wheel has its Governing Body to help smoot function of Inner Wheel.
